SolarDecide ("we," "us," "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR).
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Calculator Usage Data
When you use our solar calculator, we process:
- Appliance selections and quantities
- Location (Nigerian state)
- Monthly fuel spend
- Backup duration preference
This data is processed entirely in your browser. We do not store your calculator inputs on our servers.
1.2 Lead Form Data
If you choose to receive quotes from solar installers, we collect:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number (for OTP verification)
- Location (state and city)
- Solar system requirements (from calculator results)
This data is stored securely in our database (Cloudflare D1) and shared with verified solar installers in your area for the purpose of providing installation quotes.
1.3 Contact Form Data
When you contact us, we collect your name, email, and message. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
1.4 OTP Verification
Phone numbers submitted for OTP verification are sent to our OTP provider (Termii) solely for the purpose of sending the verification code. We do not use phone numbers for marketing.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Lead matching: To connect you with solar installers who can serve your area
- Communication: To respond to contact form submissions
- Analytics: To understand how our tools are used and improve them (via Plausible.io, which is cookieless and GDPR/NDPR compliant)
3. Advertising and Cookies
SolarDecide displays advertisements from the following networks. Each network may use cookies and tracking technologies:
PropellerAds

4. Data Retention
- Lead data: Retained for 24 months after submission, then deleted
- Contact form data: Retained for 12 months, then deleted
- Analytics data: Aggregated (non-personal), retained indefinitely
- Calculator data: Not stored (client-side only)

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
